LOVED #3: The idea for Shut Up and Smile [dot] com came to me after spending one too many days watching people on the evening news blame everybody and everything for their problems – except themselves. It was always the fault of the parents, children, employers, friends, family and/or government. Personal responsibility it seemed had taken a vacation.
Many people have legitimate reasons to gripe and there are certainly genuine victims in the world, but “chronic whiners,” are a special group of people that can make those around them at school, work and home miserable. They never have minor problems – all their problems, even the weather, are major catastrophes.
Shut Up and Smile™ is not about simply telling people ‘life is good’, it’s about letting people know ‘life can be better’ once they choose to give up the ‘ball & chain’ and stop playing the victim card.

Welcome Bob. Thanks for your comment and for visiting. That’s an interesting perspective that gave way for your business. Our population world wide certainly has variances in personality types. I liked how you phrased letting people know life can be better.
As Mary Kay consultants we know people, women in particular, need a lift from so many stressors. What we desire to impart is that they are worth being made to feel important and beautiful. When a woman sees her personal beauty in the mirror, she feels good about herself. She is a better mother, wife, and person for it. So, life can be better through pampering too!

Hi, my name is Corinne.
I wanted to let you know the story behind the 7 UP’s.
This was created about 7 years ago with the SCRIPTURES, including the TITLE, by me.
My mom had the 7 actual rules. I typed them and spiritually doctored them by adding Scriptures. I did not put my name on it. I sent it to people on my e-mail list. Ever since then, I have every so often received it as a forward. I googled the 7 UP’s and stumbled upon your web site and saw “Author Unknown” under the 7 UP’s. Well, I just wanted to let you know who the author is.
It is amazing how far God can make one little home-created e-mail travel. Every time I receive the forward from someone or see a web site with it, I giggle and thank God for His sense of humor and sovereign control!

Corinne, that’s absolutely fascinating! Via the internet, it is a small world after all. Just a google away and now insight into the creation of tying together God’s magnificent scriptures into a motivational work which many a Mary Kay consultant has benefited from reading. I’m certain many other people in life as well.
I’m so glad you left a comment and shared you are the unknown author. I had to give the credit to the unknown because I certainly didn’t write it!
Obviously others have loved this as much as I, for it has traveled the unique way of many Mary Kay consultants. God is good, and I thank Him for crossing our paths and for your wonderful work which is filled with His Holy scriptures!
Blessings to you Corinne! Thanks to your mom too for sharing the rules which brought about your remarkable creation! Thanking the Lord for working through you in order to touch the lives of so many!
