Quiet Thoughts

Quiet thoughts to begin the day.

As they say, a visual is worth….a thousand words.

What quiet thought is on your mind today?

  1. I know this is not upbeat in nature, but I need to journal desperately today. I am saddened, my heart weighs heavy, my mind in deep thought. I am distracted from my MK business. I had to take a few minutes to work through some tears, and research scripture and writings that would help in some small way. I found one writing in particular. Let me share first…

Two young people in our immediate community have lost their lives, both in automobile accidents in the past few days. One female, age 17, last Thursday evening, 11/29/07, as she left our high school event. A trio of very close friends, one of them my own daughter, now are two friends left to console each other.

The other a 17 yr old male, who attends the rival high school across the tracks, who lost his life on Sunday evening, 12/2/07. This, a group of friends, who have lost a member of their circle. Another one of my daughters among them.

Hence, two lives lost close together in a short time and a community now in shock. A mother’s love and listening ear to her own two daughters. A multitude of those who share in this grief. I happened across a writing that brought things into balance, and wanted to share. It has helped me and I hope it will help someone else in their moment of grief.

    There is a purpose.
When a florist makes a flower arrangement, they choose flowers that are fully open, close to the end of their life cycle. The florist then adds a few open flowers which are mature, but still have a while before they open fully. To complete any arrangement, the florist will always add some buds, which represent the beginning of the flower, just starting to open. We live in God’s garden. We are his flowers, and he chose another perfect bud to complete a heavenly arrangement.

This is another excerpt from reading that touched my heart. Found at http://crystalreflections.wordpress.com/about/

“…It’s sad how busy we can be. Sure, we accomplish a lot but we do not realize that sometimes we need to stop and smell the roses.
Big things come in little packages. A big thought comes from one tiny inspiration. Our life consists of short interactions with the people who we value the most. It is made up of good times and bad times, victory and defeat, laughter and tears, family, friends and acquaintances – all linked together in the chain of life.”

So, my MK sisters, I hope you’ll take time today to not only smell the roses, but more of the flowers in God’s Garden. Hug those you love. Hug those nearest and dearest to you. Think about how precious a life truly is, and how blessed we are in so many ways. Life is worth taking the time to regroup and go again. I think I’ll make some calls soon. I will also reread my bible scriptures. That helps me in time of need and in my daily walk with Him. God Bless everyone.

10-09-08 EDITED TO ADD (from Songspot page deleted):

    Piano Tribute to Josh Groban
Selected feature is titled For Always.

In loving memory of Megan and Eric, both age 17, from my daughters and our family.
Seize today, for yesterday is gone, and tomorrow is not a guarantee.
    Love to all.

    Josh Groban – For Always
    Lyrics from http://www.lyrics007.com

    I close my eyes
and there in the shadows I see your light
You come to me out of my dreams across
    the night

    You take my hand
though you may be so many stars away
I know that our spirits and souls are one
We’ve circled the moon and we’ve touched the sun
    So here we’ll stay

    For always, forever
Beyond here and on to eternity
    For always, forever

For us there’s no time and no space
    No barrier love won’t erase
    Wherever you go
    I still know
In my heart you will be
    With me

From this day on I’m certain that I’ll never be alone
I know what my heart must have always known
That love has a power that’s all its own

    And for always, forever
    Now we can fly
    And for always and always
We will go on beyond goodbye

    For always, forever
Beyond here and on to eternity
    For always and ever
You’ll be a part of me

    And for always, forever
A thousand tomorrows may cross the sky
    And for always and always
    We will go on
    beyond goodbye

  2. Oh, my heart goes out to you. I am so very sorry.
I do understand that pain as one who has been in those shoes.
May God give you and daughters His peace and His comfort now.
I wish I could hug you. I am sending you one in prayer.

  3. That is so sweet Angie. Thanks for caring and I receive the warm hug through prayer. Even as hard as this is for many, there is something great to be had. A gathering of people around the families to comfort and celebrate the lives of their precious teen(s). So many memories and hugs shared. Laughter and tears plentiful, old and new friends appear. Life is a precious gem.

I found a renewed sense of getting back on track, regained my focus. Found when making my calls, I thought of the appreciation I have for my Mary Kay customers. What great women I’ve come to know. They are intriguing and special, each of them. What a blessing in life, to feel joy and sorrow and the balance between. I feel much better just letting the emotion out and moving forward. I have much work to do to help these women shop, and I’ve already begun! A holiday coffee, stop ‘n shop, later today! I’m off and running again! Thanks Angie!

  4. My quiet thought of the day to share with you…

Jesus is my LIGHT and His light is in me!
I will live my life as a child of God should live.
I will remember that Jesus needs me!
I am an example of HIS goodness and love.
I am a LIGHT that shines even when
    darkness is around.
People will see my light and be led to Jesus!

  5. Quiet thought of mine to share for this day too, it’s January 3rd already!
Each day is God’s gift to you, make it blossom and grow into a thing of beauty.

  6. Quiet Thought Jan 4th…

    Be thankful for the Past,
    Have courage for the Present,
And Christian faith for the Future.

  7. 6 Most Important Things List from God:

    1. Lord, give me clarity on your plan and vision for my life and career.
    2. Lord, how do I need to work on me today?
    3. Lord, help me to report for duty with no agenda of my own.
    4. Lord, who should I contact to support and serve YOU today? Place the name of someone on my heart who needs a caring ear today.
    5. Lord, who should I contact to build my business to fulfill your plan and vision for my life?
    6. Lord, what activities do you want me to follow through on today?

Lord, thank you for my life, my heart, and my family.
    I love you Lord.

  8. Hi Pink Biz, I was just catching up on your blog and saw this post. I missed it when you originally posted it. It is always sad when young lives are lost. My cousin died in September, 1979 at age 12. I was barely 3 yrs old at the time. This past September, my uncle (cousin’s father) passed away suddenly. Ever since it has really made me feel mortal. Sorry if this is a little bit of a downer, but your reflective passages posted here are very inspirational and uplifting. I hope you and your daughters are doing well.

  9. Shades, sending out a really big hug to you! Thank you for caring and also for sharing some of you too! Sorry for your losses. Coping is day by day, and that will be for sometime with the girls I feel. So much change, so fast for them! Reaching out with a loving heart is very sweet and thoughtful of you. Thank you shades.

A wee bit of life’s greatest inspiration is this quiet thought for the 3rd of February 2008:

Your dreams come true when you act to turn them into realities.

What you are is God’s gift to you.
What you make of yourself is your gift to God.

  15. My morning quiet thought –

You cannot build a reputation on the things you are going to do.

  16. Why not go out on the limb?

That’s where all the fruit is.

  17. Make it a great day with this thought in mind…

    Improvement begins with “I”.

  18. Quiet Thought for this day…

It is one of the beautiful compensations of this life that no one can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.

    Charles Dudley Warner (1829-1900)
    American Journalist

  19. Quiet Thought for today…

Time, like a snowflake, disappears while we’re trying to decide what to do with it.

    not your wishbone.

  21. Long overdue for a Quiet Thought on this beautiful Saturday morning! This is an old one, but a good one.

Glass, china, and reputation are easily cracked and never well mended.
